"Helping you reach your true potential"

Specific learning difficulties (SpLD) covers a broad range of issues, including: dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, and attention deficit. These may be accompanied by additional challenges, such as problems with vision, traits of autism, issues with memory retention, obsessive compulsive behaviour, and even low self esteem.

Diagnosis can be challenging, and a specialist diagnostic assessor is required to build an accurate profile of the student's aptitide and abilities. In some cases additional expertise may also be called upon, such as referral to an educational psychologist, occupational therapist or eye specialist.

The Assessment Process: involves a series of supervised formal tests, and typically takes several hours. These tests form the basis of a diagnosis of a specific learning difficulty by identifying strengths and weakness in attainment compared with underlying ability. A significant discrepancy here might explain why a student is experiencing difficulties in learning, and it is therefore important to identify issues as early as possible. As part of the assessment process a full report is produced, which details the student's learning profile, together with a list of specific recommendations for the school, parent, and student. This report may be used to enable entitlement to reasonable adjustments to public examination conditions and classroom activities, and Disabled Students Allowance (DSA).

India 2020

"Standardising learning support internationally"

India 2020 is the inspiration and shared vision of Amita Kenyon and Rosyln McCarthy, who together bring a wealth of expertise in learning support and diagnostic assessment, both in the UK and India. India 2020 encompasses child-centric services, leveraging our bilingual skills to accommodate students with English as a second language. We take great pride in watching students develop into young adults, nurturing through learning support to reach their true potential, enabling them to take an active role in society with a much brighter future.

The India 2020 Team comprises Amita Kenyon and Rosyln McCarthy, with an extended team of specialist teachers, assessors for Specific Learning Disabilities, and educational psychologists.

Our Mission is to raise awareness and improve support for specific learning difficulties (such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, Dyscalculia) across countries where students and young adults struggle to receive appropriate diagnostic and learning support, and where local standards may not meet best practices internationally.

We provide advisory and accreditation services for Education Centres that recognise and are willing to work with our team in order to establish a growing network of Learning Support Centres of Excellence. This includes training, certifying staff and designing standardised intervention programs. Each centre is certified using a comprehensive set of criteria, and reviewed annually to ensure high standards are maintained.

We work with leading professionals across a number of fields on the development of standardised tests, so that support for specific learning difficulties can be delivered uniformly across the different international regions (with the main focus currently on the UK and India). We also work in cooperation with government and local education bodies to develop national policies that can standardise adjustments of public examinations to support specific learning difficulties in a fair and standardised way.
